Frequently Asked Questions About Counseling & Life Coaching
What can I expect from a first session?
Your first session is a relaxed conversation about what brought you here and what you're hoping for. There's no set agenda to arrive with, and you're not committing to anything beyond that first meeting.
Do you offer in-person and virtual sessions?
Yes. Sessions are available in person in Longwood, Florida — convenient to Lake Mary, Altamonte Springs, Winter Springs, Casselberry, Sanford, and Heathrow — as well as virtually for clients throughout Seminole County and the greater Orlando area who prefer to meet from the comfort of their own home. Both formats offer the same quality of care and confidentiality.
Who do you work with?
I work with individuals, couples, children, adolescents, and families in Longwood, FL and virtually throughout Seminole County — including Lake Mary, Altamonte Springs, Winter Springs, Casselberry, Sanford, and Heathrow — as well as the greater Orlando area. Whether you're navigating a specific challenge — anxiety, depression, grief, a family conflict — or simply seeking greater clarity and direction in life, there is a place for you here.
How long does each session last?
Standard sessions are typically 60 minutes. The number of sessions varies depending on your goals and the nature of what you're working through. Some clients benefit from short-term focused support; others prefer ongoing, longer-term work.
What is the difference between counseling and life coaching?
Counseling tends to focus on emotional healing, processing past experiences, and addressing clinical concerns such as anxiety or depression. Life coaching is more forward-looking — it centers on clarity, goal-setting, and purposeful action. Many clients find that a blend of both approaches serves them best, and I am trained to offer that integrated support.
How do I know if this is right for me?
If you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or simply ready for a change — that's enough of a reason to reach out. You don't need to have it all figured out before your first session. I'll meet you exactly where you are. You're also welcome to visit the FAQ page for more detailed answers.
Do you accept insurance?
I accept select insurance plans through Headway. If you would like to use insurance, you can book directly through the Headway website and confirm your eligibility and benefits with Headway. For clients who are not using Headway, sessions are private pay, and a Super Bill is available upon request for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Coverage and reimbursement vary by plan.
What are your rates?
Individual sessions are $125 for 60 minutes. Couples sessions are $150 for 90 minutes. Family sessions run 90 to 100 minutes and are $175.
What is the No Surprises Act?
The No Surprises Act is a federal law that protects clients who are uninsured or choosing not to use insurance. Before your first session, you're entitled to a Good Faith Estimate showing the expected cost of services, so there are no surprises about what counseling or coaching with Cynthia will cost. If you're billed substantially more than your estimate, you have the right to dispute the charge. A written estimate is provided on request or before your first appointment — just ask by phone or email.
