How Does Marriage & Relationship Counseling in Longwood, FL Help?

I offer compassionate, evidence-based support in Longwood, FL, serving Lake Mary, Altamonte Springs, Winter Springs, Casselberry, Sanford, Heathrow, and Seminole County, to help you and your partner rebuild trust, communicate honestly, and reconnect.

Build Stronger, Healthier Relationships

Every relationship hits rough patches. Communication breaks down, trust gets tested, the same conflict keeps repeating, or two people just grow in different directions for a while. None of that means a relationship is failing: it usually just means it needs some dedicated attention.

Whether you're struggling with communication, conflict, trust, infidelity, emotional distance, parenting disagreements, or a major life transition, counseling gives you and your partner a structured space to slow down, actually be heard, and find your way back to each other.

As a licensed counselor and certified life coach based in Longwood, Florida, I work with couples and individuals from nearby Casselberry, Oviedo, and Apopka, as well as families throughout the Greater Orlando area, with secure telehealth available throughout the state. Sessions blend proven communication tools with practical strategies you can start using the same week you learn them.

What Counseling Can Help With

Communication and recurring conflict

Most couples I work with are not fighting about the surface topic: they're stuck in a pattern that repeats regardless of the subject. We slow that pattern down, name it, and build communication habits that hold up under stress instead of collapsing into the same argument.

Rebuilding trust after betrayal

Infidelity or broken trust doesn't have to end a relationship, but it does require honest, structured repair. We work through what happened, what each partner needs to feel safe again, and a realistic path toward rebuilding, at a pace that respects both people.

Emotional distance and reconnection

Sometimes the issue isn't conflict at all, but drift: two people living parallel lives. We work on rebuilding emotional intimacy and shared purpose, so the relationship feels less like logistics and more like partnership again.

Parenting and blended family challenges

Disagreements about parenting, discipline, or blending households are common and workable. We build a shared approach so children experience consistency instead of tension between the adults raising them.

Premarital and life-transition preparation

Counseling isn't only for couples in crisis. Many clients come before a wedding, a move, a new baby, or retirement to build skills and expectations in advance, so the relationship is ready for what's ahead.

Common Questions About Relationship Counseling

Is relationship counseling only for couples in crisis?

Not at all. In my Longwood practice, I see many couples seeking to strengthen an already healthy relationship, improve communication before a major life change, or build skills for long-term success. Others come during a difficult season. Counseling meets you wherever your relationship is right now.

How is relationship counseling different from individual therapy?

Individual therapy focuses on your own emotional wellbeing and personal history. Relationship counseling focuses on the dynamic between partners, communication patterns, trust, conflict, and connection, with the relationship itself as the focus of the work.

Do both partners need to attend sessions?

Couples counseling is most effective when both partners participate, but individual sessions focused on relationship concerns are also available. If your partner isn't ready to join, working on your own patterns and communication style can still create meaningful change in the relationship.

Often the couples I see aren't fighting about the dishes or the calendar. They're each waiting for the other to prove they still matter, and neither one knows how to say that out loud.

Who This Support Is For

This work is for couples at any stage: dating, engaged, married, separated, or working toward reconciliation, as well as individuals who want to improve a relationship even if their partner isn't ready to join sessions yet. Some clients arrive during a specific crisis; others come simply to strengthen an already good relationship before a big life change. Both are valid reasons to start.

Sessions are available in person at my Longwood office or through secure telehealth for clients throughout Florida, including Orlando, Altamonte Springs, Lake Mary, Sanford, Winter Springs, Casselberry, Maitland, and Winter Park. Couples sessions run 90 minutes; individual sessions focused on relationship concerns are also available at 60 minutes.
